Andre Le Grange, AIM, PDBA (UCT GSB)
Andre’s areas of expertise include market analysis, business development and sector based research. He obtained his Associate in Management at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business in 2005. In 2006, Andre obtained his Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration (PDBA) at UCT, which further enhanced his management skills.
During
his time at Mthente, Andre has worked on a wide range of research
projects, including sector research in both the clothing and textile
industry and the ICT sector in the Western Cape, as well as exploring
linkages between Basotho based-SMMEs and multinational companies
operating in Lesotho. Andre is currently the Business Development
Manager at Mthente and is integrally involved in ensuring that
Mthente provides high quality services and research that meets its
client's needs.Prior to working at Mthente, Andre spent six years at Capestorm Outdoor Apparel, where his role involved identifying and developing new business for both their retail and business-to-business sector. His studies at UCT further enabled him to refine his market research and analytical skills, as well as his conceptualisation skills. Comprehensive market research and drafting a revised business plan aimed at growing Capestorm Outdoor Apparel’s market profile formed the core of his marketing thesis.
This experience gave Andre insight into the dynamic clothing and textile sector. This has proved invaluable in his work on projects for the Clothing and Textile Service Centre (CLOTEX) aimed at evaluating their Enterprise Development Programmes, and investigating the constraints to growth in the Western Cape clothing industry.
In February 2009, Andre co-facilitated a 3-day workshop in Lesotho for the Basotho Enterprise Development Corporation (BEDCO) in Maseru. The aim of this workshop was to develop a 3 year strategy for the development and growth of SMMEs within Lesotho, which was in-line with national objectives that aim to drive growth and encourage sustainability within Lesotho’s SMME sector.
