Mthente Work Experience Programme

Mthente is committed to skills development in South Africa and therefore regularly provides openings for students to gain work experience through engaging in Mthente's research projects and business activities. Several of Mthente's work experience students have developed skills that have enabled them to secure full-time positions at Mthente.

Thabiso Modise

Thabiso joined Mthente in February 2011 as a work experience student to learn more about the business environment, as well as take part in research activities. He will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Sociology from the University of Zululand this year and is currently pursuing his Honours degree at the University of Cape Town in the same discipline.

      

Diane Manuel

Diane joined Mthente in February 2009 to gain experience in the daily operations of a business environment. She has assisted with administration, setting up qualitative interviews and data capturing for the Ce-I Services and Branding Survey. Through the learning she received from Mthente's work experience programme, she has been able to move into a full-time role as office administrator.

      

Noella Mulowayi

Noella graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Industrial Psychology and Employment Law from the University of the Western Cape in March 2011. She joined Mthente in 2008 to do data capturing for a particular project. She then stayed on to join Mthente’s Work Experience Programme and assisted with research and project support one day a week, as well as offering assistance full-time during school holidays. She was employed as a full-time Research Assistant as of November 2010.

      

Reitumetse Sejosengoe

Reitumetse graduated from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in April 2010. She currently has an internship with Beehyv Arts to gain work experience and will be assisting with daily administrative tasks at Mthente for the month of June as part of the internship programme.

      

Lindiwe Soko

Lindiwe earned a Bachelor of Social Science degree in Industrial Sociology and Public Administration from the University of Cape Town in 1998. She joined the Mthente team from September to December 2008, assisting as a project officer as part of Mthente’s work experience programme.

      

Refuoe Mokhosi

Refuoe Mokhosi worked at Mthente while completing her Business Science degree, majoring in Information Systems at the University of Cape Town.
