Sawkut Rojid is a graduate from the Cardiff Business School in Economics and Finance. He has published a number of papers, in reputed international journals (like Journal of Economic Studies and Journal Business Review Cambridge), in the field of international trade and some of them in relation to small economies and tourism.
As a consultant, Sawkut has provided his services to a number of international organisations including the UNCTAD, the Commonwealth Secretariat, the COMESA Secretariat, AfDB, SACAU, OSSREA, ACFRN and TIPS. He has also participated in several country level studies, like the Investment Climate Assessment (joint publication by AfDB and World Bank) and the African Economic Outlook (joint publication by AfDB and OECD).
Besides lecturing at the University of Mauritius, Sawkut is also a trainer at IDS, University of Sussex for the Training course on Economic Partnership Agreement. He will be joining the World Bank country office in Mauritius as ‘economist’ as from August 2009.
