Social Economic Surveys

by Erica Glyn-Jones last modified 2009-03-05 07:22

As part of its portfolio of research services, Mthente has been increasingly involved in developing and implementing social economic surveys.

Using the latest in survey technology through our partnership with Easy Capture, we offer comprehensive survey projects – from the planning stages through to the delivery of the final report. Combining best practice quantitative and qualitative methods, our surveys deliver well-rounded and representative findings on everything from customer perceptions to skills audits.

To cite two recent projects, the Cape Information Technology Initiative (CITI) recently contracted us to help them to put their Investment Promotion, Export and Outsourcing Strategy into operation. We have also been involved in the implementation of a passenger perception survey amongst Golden Arrow bus users in Cape Town for the Department of Transport, in partnership with Hip-Hop Media Lounge.

Core services include:

  • Pre-survey consultations with the client.
  • Developing research plans.
  • Recruitment of fieldworkers (if necessary for larger surveys) and training with survey equipment.
  • Conducting the survey.
  • Carrying out both statistical and qualitative analyses.
  • Compiling the findings into outcome based reports.
