Mthente offers trade policy advice and technical support to private and public sector organisations.

At Mthente, we offer trade policy advice and technical support to private and public sector organisations. This includes helping our clients to understand the implications of bilateral, regional and multilateral trade agreements for their operations.

We aim to clarify the complex world of trade and trade negotiations, and to assist companies to identify market access opportunities for their goods and services.

In collaboration with our working partners, we also undertake trade capacity development programmes for trade officials from across the African continent. Our research and continuous engagement with regional, national and international trade bodies allow us to feel confident that we are at the cutting edge of trade policy debates.

We help by:

  • Analysing and interpreting trade policy agreements, which includes identifying commercial opportunities, and helping our clients to enhance their competitiveness, so as to take advantage of them.
  • Researching trade policy and building trade capacity.
  • Facilitating strategies that influence trade policy, as well as monitoring their development and implementation.
  • Facilitating customs and trade.
  • Trade and country briefs.
