Golden Arrow, as the sole provider of bus services in the six metropoles of greater Cape Town, covers 900 routes, and addresses the transport needs of a large cross section of the population. In association with Hip Hop Media Lounge, we at Mthente are currently conducting a survey amongst Golden Arrow bus passengers, to evaluate their degree of satisfaction with the service provided. In the survey, we look at factors such as reliability, frequency, relative safety and the degree to which passengers feel that existing channels of communication address their concerns. We are undertaking this survey using a broad – based questionnaire, which passengers respond to via face-to-face verbal interviews at all the public transport interchanges in Cape Town. We are also conducting in- depth interviews with 3 percent of our identified sample size.
