Our brief for this evaluation was to assess the Mott Foundation’s impact on its grantees in the thematic area of race and ethnic relations.

Our study was focused on analyzing the impact of Mott funding on grantees. To this end, 29 of the South African organisations funded by Mott completed a comprehensive online survey. This information was then supplemented by thirteen in depth interviews. We also examined how grantees have dealt with racism in their own structures, and provided case studies of successful non governmental programmes that have addressed issues of racism and other forms of discrimination within the communities they serve.
