Sasol-ChemCity – Operational Review and Business Support for HEA Clothing (Pty) Ltd, a beneficiary of Sasol’s SMME Incubator

In February 2011, Mthente was commissioned by Sasol-ChemCity to review the operations of HEA Clothing (Pty) Ltd and assist the SMME in achieving its growth objectives as outlined in its growth plan. HEA Clothing is a supplier of protective clothing and work wear to Sasol; and is situated in Evander, near Secunda, in Mpumalanga.

      

Basotho Enterprise Development Corporation (BEDCO) - Workshop Training

In February 2010, Mthente was commissioned by the Basotho Enterprise Development Corporation (BEDCO) to facilitate a training workshop for the officers who are involved in the development of Small, Medium and Micro enterprises in Lesotho.

 


      

Cape Town Fashion Council – Assisting the Development of a Competitiveness Programme for SMMEs

Mthente has been commissioned by the Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC) to develop and review the CTFC’s Fashion for Business Programme. The programme aims to empower local fashion designers to become fashion entrepreneurs and survive in a competitive industry.


      

Gauteng Provincial Government, Department of Economic Development – Phase 2 of the Development of a Co-operatives Development Strategy

In August 2008, Mthente assisted the Gauteng Department of Economic Development with crafting a draft Co-operatives Development Strategy. Then in September 2009, Mthente was commissioned to finalise Phase 1 and develop Phase 2 of the Strategy, which involves developing an Implementation Plan to assist the Department and its agencies to drive the development of co-operatives in the Province and identify high impact interventions and projects for co-operatives that will accelerate the growth of the Provincial economy and boost job creation.

      

Georgetown University (McDonough School of Business) – Workshop Facilitation

On 30 July 2009, Mthente Research and Consulting Services partnered with Georgetown University (McDonough School of Business) to offer a free “Leadership in Business” workshop for business leaders in Cape Town at the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business.

      

Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO) - SME Business Plan & Workshop Facilitation

Mthente facilitated a workshop for the Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO) between the 17-19 February 2009 in Maseru. The aim of this workshop was to develop a 3 year strategy for the development and growth of SMME’s within Lesotho. The developed strategy is to be in-line with national objectives that aim to drive growth and encourage sustainability within Lesotho’s SMME sector.
      

CLOTEX - Enterprise Development Strategy

In line with the BEE Act of 2004 and the focus on the need to accelerate enterprise development projects between big and small companies in the BBBEE Codes of Good Practices, Mthente worked with the Executive Manager, Chairperson of the Board and mentors of CLOTEX to build an enterprise development strategy for the organisation.
      

Gauteng Provincial Government, Department of Economic Development - Co-operatives Development Strategy

Mthente assisted the Department of Economic Development to craft a Co-operatives Development Strategy, as co-operatives are globally recognized as a positive economic and social force. In addition to facilitating stable economic growth, co-operatives build strong communities, empower marginalized individuals, and provide forums for democratic processes.
      

Cape Town Fashion Council – Impact Assessment of the Cape Town Fashion Week

In December 2008, Mthente conducted an impact assessment for the Cape Town Fashion Council (CTFC) exploring the impact of the Cape Town Fashion Week on local fashion designers and their businesses.
