In February 2009, Mthente conducted a baseline perception survey among Intranet users in the Provincial Government of the Western Cape to assess their perceptions of the branding and services of the Centre for e-Innovation (Ce-I). To measure progress against this baseline, Mthente has been commissioned to carry out a follow up survey in 2010/2011.

The main aims of the 2010/2011 perception survey will be to:

  • Identify additional key performance indicators to be used to gauge user perceptions in the IT services provided.
  • Conduct interviews with key personnel within the Centre for e-Innovation (which provides ICT services to Departments) to gain an insight into current services offered and what the perceived level of satisfaction might be.
  • Launch an online user perception survey with a representative sample of at least 1000 provincial government respondents. The survey will address perceptions on the branding as well as services offered (using the identified KPIs).
  • Conduct 50 one-on-one interviews with a sample of 50 respondents to gain a qualitative understanding of emerging themes from the online survey.
  • Collate and analyse the collected data, identifying common themes.
  • Produce a final report of survey findings with recommendations on remedying identified perception concerns.
